Some Stunt Scooter Tricks for beginners are:

  • The Ollie
  • The Bunny Hop
  • The Kick Out
  • The 360
  • The X Up
  • The Tail Whip
  • The Tail Grab

The Ollie:

This is amongst the most imperative move you should practice because it is the basis of many other scooter stunts. This stunt requires good speed, so when you achieve a good speed then pull up the handlebars and lift your feet and the back wheel, so that both wheels are off the ground. Keep in mind that your feet are on the deck when you’re about to land.

The Bunny Hop:

The Bunny Hop requires a lot of balance factor. First, try this while stationary but later you have to practice doing this trick on the move. Your strongest foot should be on the brake and other in front of it. Keep your balance on the back wheel and pull up on the handlebars, then start hopping on it. Practice this stunt by increasing the number of hops you can do before putting your foot down.

The Kick Out:

The Kick Out also requires good speed to start with. Start from a bunny hop and then kick your legs out to the side whilst staying on the deck. How far out you kick out the deck depends on you, but 90 ° means you have done well.

The 360°:

The 360° requires a challenging turn practice. First, attempt to do a 180° and after that go for full 360° turn. The 360° requires that you have enough practice to perform the Ollie because higher jump is the key to performing a 360°. Starting with a good speed, perform an Ollie and after that whilst you are in the air, turn your shoulders around to the side and let your legs and the deck follow.

The X Up:

If you can perform Ollie and also have a good balance than this stunt is easier to perform. Do an Ollie and get some height. When you are in the air, turn the handlebars 180° and back to the first position again before landing.

The Tail Whip:

This trick requires you to be an expert in performing an Ollie and getting enough height. The Tail Whip looks pretty impressive. To perform a tail whip, first do an Ollie and when you’re have gained enough height, kick the deck 360° around its back under your feet again. And the last thing you need to do is land on the deck!

The Tail Grab:

Like the Tail Whip you will need to get enough height to perform this trick. Start with an Ollie, then bend directly down and grab the back of the deck. The trick is to make sure you are back standing upright with both hands on the bars before landing.

Best Stunt Scooters

What is a stunt scooter?

The main thing that differentiates a stunt scooter from a traditional scooter is the handlebar, the deck and the wheels.

A stunt scooter is like a BMX bike to a road bike – they are designed specifically for high impact jumps and tricks.

  • The handlebar is usually fixed rather than adjustable to stop it flying around or moving as you land a jump.
  • The deck is steel and far more robust than standard scooters, which usually use aluminum or wood & glass fiber. This is to handle high impact from tricks and grinds.
  • Finally, stunt scooters use small wheels designed for short bursts of speed rather than larger wheels on other scooters that are larger and made for a maximum top speed.

Children often want their parents to buy them a stunt scooter – if you are one such parent check out our table as we have made sure to recommend a selection of stunt scooters ideal for younger riders.
